Hello, my name is Muffin,

I’m a six year old male Shih Tzu. I arrived at The Mayhew due to my owner’s relationship breakdown.

I’m a sweet natured boy with lots of character. I get along well with everyone I meet, always greeting people with a waggy tail. I tolerate other dogs I meet out and about but I’ll tell them off if they pester me. I’m toilet-trained, well-behaved and I can be left home alone for a few hours with out any problems. I walk nicely on my lead, I have a good recall off my lead in the park and I travel well in the car. I also know all the usual commands which I respond well to. I’m a very affectionate boy and I just love having my tummy rubbed. I’m not really into toys, I’d much rather be curled up on your lap receiving cuddles!

I’m now looking for a forever home with a person or family who have researched my breed type. I can live with sensible children from eight years of age and upwards. I would prefer to be the only pet in my home. My new owners will be expected to provide me with a minimum of one hour of off lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you’ll be taking on a nine year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
