Hello, my name is Marnie,

I’m a seven month old female Rottweiler. I arrived at The Mayhew due to my owner’s ill health.

I’m a very friendly and sweet-natured girl and I get along well with everyone I meet. I also get along very well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and I enjoy meeting up with them for a play in the park. Super playful, I love playing with my toys, my favourites are tugga ropes and squeaky balls and I always enjoy a good game of football. I’m also very affectionate and I like to cuddle up close for love and attention. I travel well in the car and I know the basic commands which I’m responding well too. I still have plenty more to learn so I’ll need a home with someone who has plenty of time on their hands to continue my training and socialisation.

I’m now looking for a forever home with an active person or family who have owned dogs before and have researched my breed type. I can live with sensible children from ten years of age and upwards providing they are used to being around large dogs and I could live with another dog providing we’re the right match. I wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats. I’ll need a home where there is somebody around for most of the day and I’ll need to live in either a house or a ground floor flat with direct access to a garden. My new owners will be expected to continue my training, take me to training classes and provide me with a minimum of one hour of off-lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you’ll be taking on a fourteen year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
