Hello, my name is Koko,

I’m a three year old female Staffy. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owner was made homeless.

I’m a sweet-natured and sensitive girl. I lack self-confidence and I can be shy of strangers but it doesn’t take long for me to make friends with people who are calm and gentle with me. I’m obedient and eager to please, I know all the usual commands and I walk nicely on my lead without pulling. I’m also toilet trained and I can be left home alone for a couple of hours without any problems. I love going to the park, where I have a good recall off my lead and I enjoy running around, collecting any sticks that I can find. I also get along very well with other dogs. Super affectionate; I love nothing more than cuddling up next to someone where I’ll happily sit calmly and quietly for hours on end.

I’m now looking for a forever home with an active person or family who have owned dogs before and have researched my breed type. I’d happily share my new home with sensible teenagers but due to my sensitive nature not too busy a household please. I could live with another dog providing we’re the right match and also dog-confident cats. My new owners will be expected to take me to training classes and provide me with a minimum of one hour of active off-lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you’ll be taking on a twelve year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
