Hello, my name is Brooks,

I’m an eighteen month old female Beagle. I arrived at The Mayhew because my owner was pregnant and felt she could no longer look after me.

I’m a sweet natured and friendly girl.Â I get along well with everyone I meet and I also get along well with other dogs. I’m toilet trained and I can be left home alone for a few hours without any problems, although I will chew small items left lying around.Â I know all the usual commands which I respond well to and I also know a few tricks too!Â I’m an intelligent dog who loves learning new things. I’m also very affectionate and I love having my tummy rubbed. My favourite toys are balls and I always enjoy a good game of fetch.

I’m now looking for a forever home with an active person or family who have owned dogs before and have researched my breed type.Â I’d happily share my new home with another dog providing weâ€™re the right match and I can live with sensible children fromÂ eight years of age and upwards providing they are used to being around dogs. IÂ can also live with dog-confident cats. My new owners will be expected to take me to training classes and provide me with a minimum of one hour of activeÂ off lead exercise every day. If youâ€™re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you’ll be taking on aÂ fourteen year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
