Hello, my name is Bello,

I’m an eight month old male German Shepherd and Golden Retriever type crossbreed. I arrived at The Mayhew due to a family member’s ill health.

I’m an active, bouncy and friendly boy. I get along well with everyone I meet, sometimes giving the odd woof at strangers in the distance but I’m always friendly with people who come and say hello to me. I also get along very well with other dogs. I’m toilet trained, I travel well in the car and I know the basic commands which I respond well. I’m an intelligent dog and I enjoy my training. I can be left home alone for a couple of hours although I have been known to chew small items left lying around. I’m super playful and fun-loving and I always enjoy a good game with my toys. I’m very affectionate too and I love having my tummy rubbed and ears massaged.

I’m now looking for a forever home with an active person or family who have owned dogs before and have researched my breed type. I can live with sensible children from eight years of age and upward providing they are used to being around large dogs. I can also live with another dog providing we’re the right match. I wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats. My new owners will be expected to continue my training, take me to training classes and provide me with a minimum of one hour of active off-lead exercise every day. If you’re interested in adopting me you will need to be fully prepared for the hard work and long-term commitment involved in caring for a dog, you’ll be taking on a fourteen year commitment which must not be taken lightly.
